The Ebble, Dun, Cole, Biss and Avon Rooms

This range of rooms are perfectly positioned in the town centre and provide both privacy and comfort for a small business meeting or interview and priced accordingly. They are all set up with a round meeting table and four chairs. Any of these rooms can be hired for as little as two hours, which makes it an ideal and economical venue.

The Dun and Ebble rooms can be combined to form a larger meeting or training room, suitable for up to 12 delegates in a variety of room layouts. Just ask in advance and the layout will be organised ready for you and your guests.

All of these rooms are air conditioned, clean and comfortable, and the price includes self service tea and coffee, with additional catering if required.

The River Avon is an English river in the south west of the country. To distinguish it from a number of other River Avons in Britain, this river is often also known as the Lower Avon or Bristol Avon. The name "Avon" is a cognate of the Welsh word afon, "river".

The River Cole is a tributary of the River Thames in England which flows through Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, where it forms part of the border between the two counties.

The river had become polluted and has been restored in the past few years by allowing it to flow on its natural course and by redeveloping the river bed. This is intended help increase the biodiversity of the area and of the river itself. The actions taken include raising the river bed to create natural flood meadows and floodplains and putting in meanders to recreate a natural environment. This should also help the local population as the flood risk will decrease as a result of allowing flooding further upstream and in fields adjacent to the river.

The Dun valley is an important transport route through the high chalklands between the London Basin to the east and the Vale of Pewsey to the west. It is the route by which the Kennet and Avon Canal (linking London and Bristol) enters the Thames basin from the Vale of Pewsey, crossing the watershed with the aid of the Bruce Tunnel and Crofton Pumping Station. The later Reading to Plymouth railway linking London and the south-west also uses the valley.

The River Ebble is one the five rivers of the city of Salisbury.

Rising at Alvediston 12 miles to the west it joins the River Avon 2 miles south of Salisbury at Bodenham, after flowing through Ebbesbourne Wake, Fifield Bavant, Little London, Knapp, Mount Sorrel, Broad Chalke, Stoke Farthing, Bishopstone, Stratford Tony, Coombe Bissett, Odstock and Nunton.

The River Chalke is the most significant tributary, rising in Bowerchalke and flowing through the Chalke Valley to join the Ebble at Mount Sorrel in Broad Chalke, after running through and trout farms. The Chalke also provides a steady, year round flow so that the winterbourne section of the Ebble is only from Alvediston to Knapp.
